Manningham Club 2nd XI Shake Off Losing Streak with Second Win for the Season
A strange old game for 2nd XI saw us sneak home for our second win of the season and get us off the bottom of the ladder.
Fallshaw and Coloe got us off to a great start with Fally making 40 and a fast paced 36 from the skipper. Wickets fell fairly regularly after that including Massarotti who copped a questionable LBW decision but was man enough to accept it and not mention it for the rest of the day. Frenchy played well at the end for 25 as we reached 208, our highest score for the season.
Close Win Puts Donnellan's the Tyremen 1st XI Two Games Clear on Top
The round 9 top of the table clash saw the 1st XI make the hike across Bulleen road to visit old Carey, with drizzle falling many were skeptical that we'd get under way on time, but within minutes the clouds cleared and the sun broke through. Captain Bortolotto won the toss and reluctantly chose to bat.
Manningham Club 2nd XI Misses Out Again
Round 8 saw the 2nds playing top of the table Deepdene in the second game back post the Christmas break. The home team won the toss and decided they would post a total. The usual opening combination with the ball of DDay and Frenchy started us off with a reasonably tight first 10 overs however claiming no wickets.
