Tough Start to the Season for the 3rd XI

The 3rd XI travelled to H.E Parker Reserve to take on Heathmont’s 2nd XI in a one day game.

Marcellin won the toss and elected to bat first.

Andy Keogh opened the batting and looked comfortable top scoring with 24.  Unfortunately wickets regularly fell and with only 2 other players making double figures a final score of 10/98 off 39 overs was going to make it very difficult for the bowlers to defend.

Through to the Grand Final with a Tie!

In one of the most thrilling games ever played by MOCCC, the Eagles have progressed to the GF this weekend. We will play Glen Iris at Macleay Park, North Balwyn for the A Turf Flag.

The 1st XI won the toss vs. Canterbury and compiled 9/270 off 80 overs. Julian Black led the way with 54 but it was a true team batting performance with Dom Harding (45), Cal Stewart (46) and Nick Burt (47no) all contributing. Cal and Nick combined with an outstanding 9th wicket partnership saving the team from posting total below 200.

Manningham Club 2nd XI Late Season Form Not Enough

A disappointing end to the season for the MOCCC 2nd XI saw us go down to old rivals St. Kevin’s by 107 runs.

Day 1 started ok with Mira and Danny both picking up a wicket to have them 2/38, however a 77 run partnership that included a controversial ‘bump ball’ gave St. Kev’s the upper hand and left us struggling for the remainder of the game. St. Kevin’s put on the best batting performance we’ve faced all year as all batsmen contributed with their opener Cullinan anchoring the innings.

Donnellan's the Tyremen 1st XI Dominate on the Back of a Harding Hundred

Round 10 saw ladder leaders Marcellin host East Malvern Tooronga. Marcellin won the toss and had no hesitation batting first on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Eagles started well with a return to form 54 from opener James Kazalac and a quick fire 40 from keeper Cal Stewart. Pommy Dom Harding walked out at number 4 and smashed the EMT bowlers to every corner of the Lyons oval. Dom passed 500 runs for the year and also brought up his 2nd ton for MOCCC.
