1st XI Round 1 2017/18 Vs Burwood

The firsts turned out for game one at Marcellin against the league new boys, Burwood. A lot of
familiar faces, but with a new man at the helm and a new English recruit, we were excited to get
underway at home. We lost the toss and were thrown the ball, with Tristo and Jack ‘cuddles’ Grundy starting us off. It took cuddles only 3 balls to get our first chance, with the newly crowned skipper spilling an absolute dolly...

2nd XI Start the Season with Strong Individual Performances

The MOCCC 2ndXI started the season with a comfortable win on the road against Ashburton. Captain Coloe won the toss and had no hesitation in batting. The original odd couple of Massarotti and Keogh opened the innings with both making solid scores in the 20’s. Dan Coloe and Paul Dinneen then came together and put on an entertaining third wicket stand of 73 before Paul was caught going for one too many big shots. A great knock of 52 to start the season. Coloe finished not out 40 as we made a very respectable 181 from our 40 overs.

The 2nd XI Miss Out in a Close One

Close but no cigar for MOCCC 2nd XI in their first 2 day game of the season. Losing the toss and bowling first in our away game at Mont Albert wasn’t part of the plan but a few early wickets to Day and Watty had us in a good position early at 5/56. Mont Albert’s lower order batted quite well as we dropped off a bit after tea and they ended up making 207 all out. Nick Watty was easily the pick of the bowlers taking five wickets, while Danny and Rushy bowled tightly all day.
