With just one change to the side, Peter French for his first game this season in the 1st XI, the MOCCC 1st XI arrived at a beautifully sunny Burwood. The wicket and outfield looked like they would be a joy to play on, and after winning the toss Captain Callan Stewart elected to bat. 

The Marcellin OCCC 3rd XI fell an agonising 12 runs short of North Alphington's first innings total of 169 to experience it's second loss in a row at home in a cordially played game, where sundries and wickets were the difference in the final scores. 

Round 2 saw the Marcellin OCCC 1st XI proudly stride out onto Donvale Reserve’s immaculately prepared number 1 ground to face the other Wright Shield newbies. The cloud formation overhead swirled around and threatened an array of different weather scenarios, however luckily (or unluckily) apart from a light drizzle, the rain stayed away and a ball of play was not lost.

In the second game of the Marcellin OCCC 3rd XI's 2017/18 season, and its first game at home, North Balwyn Combined took advantage of the boundary rope to race its way to chasing the 151 set by the 3rd XI in the first innings of the match.
