Club stalwart James Kazalac plays his 200 th game for the club this week in a wonderful career that has seen him make thousands of runs and according to him, “dozens of wickets back when people used to give me a bowl” dating back to his teenage years in the mid 1990’s. Kaz’s list of achievements at MOCCC is as long as the Lyons Oval square boundaries. Just to name a few….
- First XI Premiership player
- Former First XI Captain
- Second XI Premiership Captain
- Talented Breakdancer
- Dismissed LBW more times than anyone in ECA history.
It hasn’t all been wide brimmed hats and sharp turning leg spin bowling for Kaz though, there’s been a few controversial moments along the way. After receiving multiple stitches to the head and a possible concussion Kaz was forced to leave a team mate stranded on 99 not out, an incident the not out
batsman got over quite quickly and rarely mentions. Another incident on a post season trip to Sorrento also involving a nasty blow to the head is believed to still be before the courts so we might leave it at that. It’s been a wonderful 200 games from one of the absolute nicest guys in Marcellin Cricket history and much to the annoyance of his wonderful wife and kids we’re expecting another 200 from him.
Congrats Kaz!
