Dear All,
As we draw closer to the end of the season I invite you all to Marcellin this weekend to support two teams playing in semi-finals.
Our 1st XI have had a superb year, sitting 2 games clear on top of the A turf ladder. Our 2 English imports, Graeme White and Dom Harding have starred for the team. Graeme, the left arm orthodox spinner from county club Northants has dominated with the ball and Dom has put together a massive run tally. Nick Burt has also starred with the ball.
This weekend (Sat/Sun - 12.30 start) they face Canterbury for the right to play in the Grand Final. Canterbury boast former Victorian player Lloyd Mash. It will be a great challenge for the team!
Our 4th XI have also finished on top of the LOC2 ladder and will face Richmond Union in the one day semi-final on Saturday. We expect a high scoring run feast!
Our 2nd & 3rd XI both finished their seasons this past weekend. Both teams were competitive at times but struggled with consistency. A special effort by both captains, Dan Coloe and Paul Dinneen who put in plenty of hard work throughout the year.
Congratulations is also due to the Vets who played their first year in the ECA Vets Division 1 and our juniors who combined with Balwyn CC to start their development in the U14.
Well done to all those who represented the club this year and for all the support staff who are invaluable to the success of the club. We also acknowledge the support from all our sponsors and the school whose contribution is essential to the club.
Please make some time to come down this weekend to the school and support the 2 finals teams. We will have drinks and BBQ available on both days.
Keep checking back at our website, www.marcellinoccc.org.au for all latest stats, ladders, photos, match reports, club news and much more……
Kind Regards,
