A strange old game for 2nd XI saw us sneak home for our second win of the season and get us off the bottom of the ladder.
Fallshaw and Coloe got us off to a great start with Fally making 40 and a fast paced 36 from the skipper. Wickets fell fairly regularly after that including Massarotti who copped a questionable LBW decision but was man enough to accept it and not mention it for the rest of the day. Frenchy played well at the end for 25 as we reached 208, our highest score for the season.
Day 2 began with Frenchy greeting the Bulleen skipper with a full toss at the throat first ball and then executing a bizarre run out where the same batsman forgot to return to his crease after the ball was bowled. Another wicket next ball and we had 2 for not many. Frenchy bagged another along with one for Trist and Jock and 2 for ‘The Mazz’. Danny Day came back on near the end to pick up the most plumb LBW of all time followed by another the next ball thanks to a screamer of a catch from Lachie to wrap up the Bulleen innings at 156.
A bottom of the ladder tussle against Ashburton this week is a must win to make sure we don’t collect the wooden spoon.
