Round 10 saw ladder leaders Marcellin host East Malvern Tooronga. Marcellin won the toss and had no hesitation batting first on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Eagles started well with a return to form 54 from opener James Kazalac and a quick fire 40 from keeper Cal Stewart. Pommy Dom Harding walked out at number 4 and smashed the EMT bowlers to every corner of the Lyons oval. Dom passed 500 runs for the year and also brought up his 2nd ton for MOCCC. After looking like posting a total of 350+, Marcellin were bowled out for 300 in the second last over of the day. A great team effort, highlighted by Doms sensational knock of 144.
Rocking up 2nd week with 300 on the board, we were very confident of securing our 8th win of the year. But with the deck looking like an absolute belter and a great day for batting, some were thinking this wasn't going to be as easy as we thought. That was until the first few overs were bowled. What proceeded some would say was the most boring day of cricket we have experienced. EMT neverrrrr looked like having a crack at all throughout the day. A lot of blocking, leaving and not taking the singles that were on offer happened all afternoon. Chub took the piss on one leg and finished with 5/19 off 11 overs. Wickets fell every now and then and EMT finished off the day 9/180 odd. Another win for Marcellin see us secure top spot and a home final. Next game we head down to richmond city (Kevin Bartlett reserve) for the final game of the season and good preparations for finals.
