Different Day, Different Opposition, Same Result!

Yes the boys have done it again and won round 6 against Oakleigh! Marcellin won the toss and elected to bat first. We lost Keyur Mehta early. With 1/6 in 4 overs, Rohit Shetye and Daniel Coloe built the innings together with a quick partnership of 84 runs before R Shetye had to retire not out after another half century. D Coloe made a fine 31.

In pursuit of fast runs we lost some quick wickets, but some good contributions from Dev Patel, Meet Fifadra and Michael Mirabella at the end gave Marcellin a competitive total of 189. With a small ground and a par total to defend, the bowlers started really well with D Patel and M Fifadra again proving difficult to face with the new ball.

Oakleigh were restricted to 2/24 in their first 10 overs. John Dinneen was again right on target with his Yorkers and “The Snake” and didn’t allow Oakleigh to get away finishing up with figures of 2/14. Mira, Kushal Doshi and Julian Black then chipped in with some good overs to wrap up Oakleigh for 103 giving Marcellin another big victory in the Comp.
